Non-verbals toolbox
For those who provide support to or work with people who have completed a ReStart or ReNew. Also, for anyone who would like to learn how to use body language and non-verbal cues for more effective communication in any context.

Understanding harmony Horsemanship's role
Harmony Horsemanship provides structured, non-clinical equine-assisted learning. Through ground-based activities with horses, participants practice skills they can use in daily life.
Harmony Horsemanship's programs works alongside counseling, education, and other professional support. Harmony Horsemanship does not diagnose mental-health conditions or provide psychotherapy, medication management, medical care, emergency intervention, crisis stabilization, or residential treatment.

What ages do you serve?
ReNew, ReStart, and ReFresh Courses are for ages 8 through adult. The Sample Sessions and Non-Verbals Toolbox is for adults only.
Which program is right for me?
ReStart, ReNew, and ReFresh are designed for different needs and referral situations. Review the program summaries above, or contact us if you are unsure which option may be appropriate.
Can I refer myself or my child?
To participate in a ReStart or ReNew program, a referral or brief assessment is required. We are happy to help you connect with someone who can give you an assessment and subsequent referral for you or your child if needed.

Adults are allowed to self-refer for a one-hour Sample Session or to do a ReFresh Session if they have graduated from a ReStart or ReNew program.
Who can provide a referral?
ReStart: Professional referrals required. This includes counselors, teachers, school counselors, social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists, parole officers, sponsors, and human resource professionals.

ReNew: Professional and lay referrals accepted. This includes all of the above plus pastors, youth workers, and coaches.

We are happy to help you connect with someone who can give you an assessment and subsequent referral if needed.
How long are the programs?

ReStart: Five, two-hour sessions. These can be done consecutively or spread across two weeks.

ReNew: Five, two-hour sessions. These can be done consecutively or spread across two weeks.

ReFresh: One or more one to two-hour sessions. Number and length are determined by need.

Do participants need horse experience?
No previous horse experience is necessary.
What happens during a session?
Participants work one-on-one with a trained facilitator through structured, ground-based activities with horses. You will be taught how to execute various horsemanship tasks while also learning how to understand and adjust to the horse’s responses.
What should participants wear?
Closed shoes are required. Long pants are recommended but please take the outdoor temperature into account and wear what you will be comfortable in. Shirts and jackets should be weather appropriate and comfortable. Hats are optional. You will be notified if you need to be prepared for inclement weather. Sunscreen and bug spray are encouraged in the warmer months. Gloves are encouraged when it’s cold.

Harmony Horsemanship is located in Ringgold, Georgia, and serves participants throughout North Georgia and the greater Chattanooga area. Visits are by appointment only.
